Home Health Aides and personal care aides help people who are disabled, chronically ill, or cognitively impaired, as well as elderly adults who need assistance with activities of daily living. They are responsible for helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and light housekeeping. HHAs are companions to those who need it most.
There are many good reasons to become a Home Health Aide; time flexibility, privilege of making a difference, providing companionship to those who need it the most, helping make life more manageable for clients. This is also a personal rewarding career. This truly allows for all Home Health Aides to make a difference.
Home Health Aides are an essential element in caregiving. Patients who are homebound get lonely at times, so having a home health aide there helps their quality of life. Talking to patients and just being present in the home with them has a positive impact on the overall health and well-being of patients. Also makes them feel good they have someone to help them and be there for them in case of an emergency or just for companionship.
