Men’s Health Week June 14-20
Men’s Health Week is celebrated every year across the globe in June. It is an opportunity to highlight men’s health and what it means to be healthy. Through a series of promotions, events, and publicity during this international week, Men’s Health Week is designed to provoke thought and discussion about ways to improve male health. Men are at higher risk for many serious diseases, including heart disease, lung cancer, and HIV. Men also face unique health problems that don’t affect women, like prostate cancer. To improve men’s health, it’s important to raise awareness about preventive screenings and regular health care for men of all ages.
Importance of Men’s Health
Men’s health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, as experienced by men, and not merely the absence of disease.
Health is one of the things any person male or female should have in mind and always prioritize your health and wellbeing over everything.
Some of the health issues men face are,
• Heart disease
• Depression
• Stroke
• Lung and prostate cancer
Masculinity has a huge impact on men’s health because it prevents them from seeking help when they are going through tough times or any health issue. Men tend to not seek professional help early on and that’s one of the reasons why things tend to worsen when they do make the decision on seeking professional help.
Many factors can keep men healthy like, eating well, exercise, maintaining their health above all.
For men the ages between 40 and 50 are crucial because they produce testosterone at a fast and declining rate. They lose muscle mass and are more vulnerable to weight gain.
Men have more health problems due to behavior they tend to engage in activities that lead to body injuries and diseases.
